While Meghan Markle was known by some for her role in the TV series “Suits”, her fame exploded when she started dating Prince Harry. According to Google, “Meghan Markle” was the celebrity name that was searched more than any other in 2016. Her rising fame also led to speculation about her appearance and whether or not her look was natural or enhanced by cosmetic surgery. In honor of her interview over the weekend with Oprah, let’s take a look back at the suspected plastic surgery procedures of Meghan Markle.
In the past, the Kardashian family was often cited as the leaders in celebrity cosmetic surgery requests (where patients request certain cosmetic procedures to try and look like their favorite celebrities). Once Meghan Markle entered the orbit of the Royal Family, the demand from patients wanting to alter their nose to look like Meghan’s grew in number.
One of the reasons the public gravitated towards her nose was the fact that her nose was not perfect in its look. Markle’s nose has a refined tip but it also has a hump that is natural in appearance. Profile photos of Markle show that she has a slight dorsal hump on her nose that is hard to detect when looking at her face “straight on”. The hump is often only detectable when viewing her profile.
Many female patients that want to get a nose like Meghan Markle find this feature to be quite empowering. They view the imperfection in Meghan’s nose as a sign that a person does not need to have perfect features in order to “find a prince”.
While there are many people who want to get a nose like Meghan Markle, some patients are afraid or unsure about having an invasive surgical rhinoplasty procedure. They are not sure about the results they will receive and these potential patients are often unwilling to spend the money on the surgical procedure.
Patients that do not want to have open rhinoplasty or closed rhinoplasty can have liquid rhinoplasty performed. This rhinoplasty technique uses dermal fillers to achieve the desired results.
The procedure starts with the doctor numbing the tip of the nose and then injecting filler into the targeted areas of the nose. The amount of filler that is used by the doctor depends on the desired amount of changes the patient wants to make to the nose.
Liquid rhinoplasty, AKA a “liquid nose job”, works to eliminate humps in the nose, alter and/or enhance the overall angle of the tip of the nose, fill-in any depressions in its appearance and give the nose a look that is straighter in appearance.
Besides allowing patients to make the desired changes to the nose without the need for a surgical procedure, they can also enjoy the enhancements to the nose without having to take time off work to recover from the procedure. Patients enjoy the ability to see how their nose will look following rhinoplasty without the results being permanent (in case they are not happy with the final results).
As mentioned above, the final results of liquid rhinoplasty are not permanent so patients will need to undergo follow-up treatments if they want to maintain the changes to the nose. In general, there is no downtime after liquid rhinoplasty (AKA noninvasive rhinoplasty) so patients are able to return to work immediately after their procedure.
The length of the results depends on the type of filler used as well as the amount of filler placed in the nose.
In addition to the suspected changes to her nose, there has been some gossip that Meghan Markle has undergone cosmetic dentistry procedures such as teeth whitening and veneers to make her teeth brighter, change their color and shape and also give her mouth a more youthful and rejuvenated look.
In the past, Markle had some visible lines on her face as well as crow’s feet that spread out from the corner of her eyes. They are not as noticeable or prominent anymore which makes some celebrity watchers believe Meghan had Botox placed in strategic areas of the face to rejuvenate her look and reduce the appearance of the lines that showed signs of aging.
There has also been some speculation about filler being used to give her upper lip a thicker appearance and to lessen the appearance of her smile lines and nasolabial folds (the lines from the corner of the nose to the corner of her mouth).
As long as there is interest in the continuing drama of the Royal Family, there will be interest in the look of Meghan Markle. She continues to inspire fans with her appearance. They also enjoy tracking changes in her look and determining whether or not her appearance is natural or if she had some help from cosmetic surgeons.
