Celebrities are much like everyone else in that they want to attain a certain look or appearance to their body. Some of them are very open about undergoing plastic surgery while other prefer to keep their adventures in cosmetic surgery a secret from the public. In one of her latest songs, Billie Eilish addresses the issue of celebrities who have undergone plastic surgery while claiming they have not had made any cosmetic changes to their appearance.
In a recent interview with The Guardian newspaper, Eilish touched on the lyrics of her song "OverHeated". In the lyrics, the 19-year-old singer calls out celebrities who have gone under the knife by saying "All these other inanimate b-----s/It's none of my business/But don't you get sick of/Posin' for picture with that plastic body? Man."
In the interview, the singer shared the fact that the song was a message to people who continue to perpetuate standards of beauty that she feels are "unattainable".
"It's completely fine to get work done - do this, do that, what makes you feel happy. It's just when you deny it and say, 'Oh, I got this all on my own, and if you just tried harder, you could get it.' That makes me literally furious. It's so bad for young women - and boys, too - to see that."
Even with her strong opinions about the appearance of others, including celebrities with good plastic surgery, the singer has admitted to body image struggles and spending time in the past comparing her appearance to other women on social media. Her comparison of her body also includes viewing women who have undergone plastic surgery procedures to alter or enhance their appearance.
"I see people online, looking like I've never looked. And immediately I am like, oh my God, how do they look like that? I know the ins and outs of this industry, and what people actually use in photos, and I actually know what looks real can be fake. Yet I still see it and go, oh God, that makes me feel really bad."
When asked about her opinion about herself, Billie Eilish admits to being "very confident" in herself as a person and also being happy with her life. However, she will also admit to being unhappy with her body. Billie feels that being a celebrity in the public eye has not been very helpful when it comes to making any improvements about how she feels about her physical appearance.
"I have such a terrible relationship with my body. Like you would not believe, so I just have to disassociate...Then you get a paparazzi picture taken when you were running to the door and had just put anything on, and didn't know the picture's being taken, and you just look how you look, and everyone's like, 'Fat!'"
Along with her negative feelings about the appearance of her body, the singer does feel the fascination people have with the bodies of others is not a good idea. "We only need bodies to eat and walk around and poop. We only need them to survive. It's ridiculous that anybody even cares about bodies at all. Like, why? Why do we care? You know, when you really think about it?"
Even though Billie is against the idea of celebrities having plastic surgery, and not sharing that information with others, she is suspected of having cosmetic procedures and not sharing that information with others.
For example, her lips are much more prominent than they were in the past and currently have a very full appearance. The gossip surrounding the look of her lips has included the idea that she had lip filler placed to give them a more prominent look.
The appearance of her nose has also been a topic of conversation as some of her fans think Eilish has made some minor changes to her nose. The speculation is based on the idea that her nose is not as wide or full in appearance as it has been in the past. Her fans think Billie's nose is actually more refined in appearance and that this could be the result of rhinoplasty surgery.
The last piece of celebrity plastic surgery speculation, regarding her appearance, is the idea that she has undergone Botox treatments to give her smoother skin. The alteration in the look of her skin could also simply be related to the change in her appearance when she debuted her blonde hair look. The change in the color of her hair could have simply caused her skin to have a more glowing and youthful look.
The cosmetic surgery procedures discussed above have not been confirmed or denied by Billie Eilish or anybody in her immediate circle. It remains to be seen if the singer will continue to speak out against plastic surgery or if she makes additional changes to her appearance that will lead to more gossip and speculation about plastic surgery on her part.
