According to a plastic surgeon in Houston, the holidays are a popular time for plastic surgery.
Dr. Mirwat Sami, of Houston Eye Associates, says many patients pick the holidays for their procedures for two reasons. They are about to see loved ones and they also don’t have to take time off work.
She recently told the NBC-TV affiliate in Houston, “People, especially even men are now looking to have lasers, skin resurfacing, there's a lot of that especially in the winter season it's great because there's less sun exposure after laser procedures.”
She also said that one of the biggest trends this year is a natural look as opposed to a Hollywood and Beverly Hills style makeover. According to Sami, “It’s really just very unnatural, it looks so done. One of the fillers that I've been using a lot of is Volbella." She added that Volbella works well for patients who desire an increase in volume that is more natural in appearance.
Dr. Sami told the NBC station that it is important to use a doctor that is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Doing proper research about doctors is a vital step in making sure they are experienced in performing the procedure desired by the patient. Plus, patients should ask to see “before and after” photos of actual patients treated by the doctor before making the final decision to have a surgical procedure.
