Vaginal Rejuvenation

Vaginal rejuvenation alters the anatomy or appearance of the vagina. It includes surgical (labiaplasty, clitoral hood reduction, labia majoraplasty, monsplasty and vaginoplasty ) and non-surgical procedures. Non-surgical procedures use a handpiece to warm the vaginal canal and external labia. Depending on the procedure, the handpiece delivers radio-frequency or laser energy over the affected areas, both internally and externally, to heat up the vaginal tissues and stimulate collagen formation to restore the area to a more youthful state. Surgical procedures can shorten, lengthen or tighten the area to increase function and stimulation.

Ideal candidates have vaginal laxity, are suffering from sexual dissatisfaction, vaginal dryness or urinary incontinence. Candidates with active lesions in the area to need to be treated, women that are pregnant or within 3 months postpartum or are suffering from cancer are not good candidates for non-surgical procedures. Patients suffering from bleeding disorders, medical conditions that can impair the healing process or have a history of scarring are not good candidates for the surgical procedures.

The typical cost for a vaginal rejuvenation procedure ranges from $3000-$12,000.The final cost depends on the type of procedure performed, hospital or surgical facility fees, anesthesia fees, the surgeon’s level of expertise and the geographic location of the procedure.

The procedure creates a rejuvenated and revitalized vagina. Generally, non-surgical procedures require little to no downtime while surgical procedures requires 3-14 days for recovery. For surgical procedures, sexual activity should be avoided for 3-4 weeks. The length of the results depends on the procedure. Non-surgical procedures last 12-18 months while surgical procedures can be permanent if all necessary instructions are followed after the surgery.
