Her flashy smile was all over the MTV VMA's carpet last weekend as one of the pre-show performers and if you haven't previously followed Cardi B, you could've never guessed those pearly whites are brand new! The star of Love & Hip Hop: New York Season 6 went to dentist Dr. Catrise Austin for a new set of chompers in fall 2016 and now people are curious about what her teeth look like in before-and-after comparisons.
The 24-year-old rapper was the breakout star of LHHNY but her boisterous personality and ability to provide comic relief didn't shield her from some of the hate she got for her appearance. Many viewers of the series took to social media to bully Cardi, often over her snaggletooth.
"If you don't feel comfortable, if you are tired of people talking about you, then go and fix it," Cardi B revealed in a YouTube video posted to The Smilist Dental's account. "Like, it's alright to fix it."
By the second episode of Season 7, Cardi B debuted her dentist-approved smile. But because of the massive amount of reactions Cardi B's teeth have generated over the years, the New York native has been very vocal about the work she's gotten done. Even before debuting her new set, Cardi B didn't shy away from questions about whether or not dental work was in her future.
"So I see all the comments and I decided, alright. I give up. I'm going to get some dental work. I'm going to pull out all the teeth in the back of my mouth so I can suck d--k better!" she joked on Instagram.
She's even been honest about it through her own lyrics. In her song "Bodak Yellow" — which Demi Lovato has been an outspoken fan of and even knows all the words to — she raps, "Got a bag and fixed my teeth/Hope you hoes know it ain't cheap." That's one way to clap back at the haters!
