When patients decide to make a change in their appearance, they often turn to celebrities to provide an inspiration for their desired look. They will bring photos to the doctor so the cosmetic surgeon can examine the pictures and get a better idea of the desired results from the patient. While people want to look like celebrities, they often do not go too far overboard in their quest. They will make a few changes here and there but they do not make a complete “overhaul” of their appearance. However, a man in Argentina recently revealed that he has spent over $30,000 on cosmetic surgery in an effort to look more like his celebrity idol, Michael Jackson. Leo Blanco is from Buenos Aires and works as a Michael Jackson impersonator for a living. By spending over $30,000 on surgery to look like Michael Jackson, Blanco has undergone more than 11 plastic surgery procedures and multiple cosmetic treatments. Take a look below to learn more about the changes he made to his appearance and the reasons he decided to try and look like Michael Jackson.
Leo Blanco is from Buenos Aires and works as a Michael Jackson impersonator for a living. By spending over $30,000 on surgery to look like Michael Jackson, Blanco has undergone more than 11 plastic surgery procedures and multiple cosmetic treatments.
Leo first became fascinated with the singer when he was a child. Blanco decided that he wanted to look like his signing hero. However, even after all of that money and surgery, Blanc is still not happy with his appearance and he want to undergo additional surgeries.
Leo’s surgical journey started at the age of 15. Since that time, he has undergone four operations on his nose, two otoplasty surgeries to reshape his ears, three liposuction surgeries, plastic surgery on his chin, cheekbones and jaw and two Botox and filler treatments. In addition to these treatments, Blanco has also had his eyebrows tattooed on his body.
When asked about the changes to his body, Leo told a reporter that he put his body and soul, as well as all of his money, into becoming the “ultimate”/best Michael Jackson impersonator in the world.
Blanco has even decided to call his home “Neverland” which is a nod to Michael Jackson’s theme park home.
Even though Blanco is happy with his attempt to look like Michael Jackson, not everyone around him is as comfortable with his obsessive quest. His mother is worried for his safety and is afraid that he will die as a result of having so many surgeries.
According to Blanco, “each surgery takes me closer to my objective. As a continuation of his quest to look like Michael Jackson, Blanco recently had mandibular contouring in order to achieve a more masculine chin and jawline as well as making the area square in appearance. He recently told a TV station that he would like his eyebrows to be “a bit more lifted up, this could be done by getting injections. I’d like to get a face lifting, although all the surgeons refuse to do it because they say I’m not old enough. It’s a constant fight between what my parents want, what I want and what the surgeons are willing to do.”
As mentioned above, his mother is worried that his obsession to look like Michael is going too far. While she does approve of him being a fan of the singer and impersonating him, she thinks the multiple plastic surgeries are taking things too far. She said that his discussions about the surgeries are so relaxed that he treats them in the same manner as going to a hairdresser.
Blanco says it is “impossible to have just one or two surgeries done. You want more and more. I spent around $30,000. It was not what I imagined but to reach my dream, it’s worth it.”
Blanco makes it a regular practice to share videos and photos of his performances throughout Argentina to all of his Instagram followers. He suffered from self-esteem issues as a child but he now surrounds himself by people that love him and his appearance.
When speaking to a TV reporter, Blanco said he never had many friends during his school years. “I thought that there is something wrong with me and that I had to form my body, so I went to the gym and I bleached my hair blond. Despite being muscular and blond, I have never managed to connect with pupils of my age. I can say that today I’m surrounded by people who I love and not with people that the high school imposes on me.”
Blanco’s statement above shows how cosmetic surgery can make a positive impact on the self-esteem of a person. Cosmetic surgery can enhance and augment the appearance of a person and help them gain the appearance they desire and have always imagined being able to gain through the use of cosmetic procedures.
