According to Dr. P. Daniel Ward, adjunct associate professor of facial plastic surgery at the University of Utah, the increase in treatments such as fillers and Botox has brought younger demographics to medical offices as these patients look to make a change in their appearance.
Ward noted that many patients are also choosing to use more invasive treatments because the recovery time for the invasive treatments is actually shorter than some cosmetic surgery treatments such as lasers. Ward was quoted as saying “We are going back to the roots with more advanced techniques.”
It remains to be seen if the cosmetic surgery trends of 2016 stay at the top of the list or if there will be different treatments that take the top spot among patients at the end of 2017.
