There are times when it seems the last thing that matters when it comes to politicians is their actual political stance or views. The news media and the public often seem to focus on the personal lives of politicians, and this includes their appearance. Even the President of the United States is not immune to gossip regarding his current look as one politician has recently accused Joe Biden of having plastic surgery.

Joe Biden Plastic Surgery – What is Biden Accused of by a House Member?

Greg Murphy, a member of the House of Representatives from North Carolina, has accused President Joe Biden of undergoing “so much plastic surgery.” The accusations about the appearance of Biden occurred during an appearance by Murphy on Fox News.

Before joining the House of Representatives, Murphy was an affiliate professor of surgery as well as the chief of the division of urology at East Carolina School of Medicine. During an interview on the news channel, the US House member referred to his background in the field of medicine to suggest that Joe Biden is starting to become unfit to serve the country.

As part of the interview, Murphy stated, “Let’s look at Joe. He’s had so much plastic surgery, so much Botox, so much filler – that’s on the outside. And Maria, I deal in a surgical field that has a lot of older patients, and so I have seen patients through the years decline mentally – it’s just a fact, it’s what happens.”

Murphy implied that Biden would be considered to be an older patient since he is currently the oldest serving president in the history of the United States. Joe Biden is currently eighty years old, and he would be eighty-six years of age if, and when, he completes a second term.

There are some members of the public who are concerned about Biden’s age and health when it comes to his fitness for office. There are also some Republicans, such as Murphy, who are suggesting that Bien has dementia and is “frustrated” by an inability to properly share or communicate his thoughts.

These Republicans cite a recent story from Axios that mentions his alleged bad temper. Murphy went so far as to say Biden is having “emotional swings” and “outbursts to his staff” as a way of trying to prove that the president has a form of dementia. These accusations by Murphy might be politically motivated since he also told the news channel that Biden “never was fit” to be the leader of the United States. “Let’s just be honest; the guy is not fit for office, he never was fit for office, and he surely would not be fit for another five years.”

Joe Biden Plastic Surgery – What Does the Medical Community Think?

The idea that Joe Biden has undergone plastic surgery has been speculated upon in the past. As far back as 2008 when he was part of the presidential campaign that year, there has been speculation that Biden has undergone a number of procedures such as Botox, a facelift, and hair plugs. Biden has never confirmed this gossip so whether the speculation about his appearance is true is still unknown.

The whispers about his appearance are actually part of a larger conversation surrounding the president and his mental and physical health. Ever since he announced his decision to run for a second term in office, there has been an increased amount of attention on verbal slip-ups and falling in public. Biden has simply brushed off any concerns about his ability to handle the daily demands of the office as well as any speculation about his mental and physical health.

During an interview with 60 Minutes last year, Biden simply stated that his mind was “focused.” He added, “I no more think of myself as being as old as I am than a fly. There’s not things that I don’t do now that I did before, whether it’s physical or mental – or anything else.”

During his successful campaign to reach the Oval Office, the year 2019 saw a number of cosmetic surgeons tell the Washington Examiner that scars that were present on the sides of Biden’s cheeks were an “obvious” sign that Biden had a facelift to rejuvenate his look and turn back the clock on his appearance.

At the time, one plastic surgeon from Columbia University told the magazine. “Oh he’s had a facelift, there’s no question.” In the same article, a cosmetic surgeon from New York said, “The problem with Biden’s plastic surgery is that it’s obvious. I’ve operated on several high-profile individuals, and I’d never let them look like that. Those are classic facelift scars. It’s probably been over a year. I kind of feel bad for him. He should have had those scars removed.”

Joe Biden Plastic Surgery – His Physician Addresses His Health

In a summary of the health of Joe Biden released in February, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the physician of the president, said that Biden’s “head, ears, eyes, nose, and throat are normal.” Dr. O’Connor did not make any type of statement about plastic surgery.

There were “several localized, non-melanoma skin cancers” that were removed from his body, but Dr. O’Connor stated that the president “remains fit for duty, and fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations.”
