ThermiVa

ThermiVa is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to tighten the vagina by stimulating new collagen production. It helps women overcome the effects of childbirth or aging. An S-shaped hand piece with a thermistor tip is used to warm the vaginal canal and external labia. The handpiece delivers the radiofrequency energy, both internally and externally, to heat up the tissues and stimulate collagen formation. The temperature of the tissue is monitored with the help of a probe. The procedure takes about 30 minutes.

Women eligible for ThermiVa have vaginal laxity, suffer from orgasmic problems or sexual dissatisfaction, vaginal dryness and urinary incontinence. The procedure is also suitable for women dissatisfied with the appearance of their labia. Patients that are pregnant are not good candidates for the procedure.

The cost of ThermiVa depends on a variety of factors including hospital fees, the surgeon's level of expertise, the geographic location of the procedure and if other procedures are performed at the same time. In general, the cost ranges from $1500-$4000.

The procedure rejuvenates and revitalizes the vagina. There is little to no downtime needed after the procedure. Patients can have sexual intercourse the same day as the treatment. Full results take a couple of months to become evident. For maximum results, 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are required.  The results last for a period of 9-12 months.
