PicoWay

PicoWay is a non-invasive, dual wavelength laser treatment used to remove tattoos and pigmented spots from the skin. PicoWay makes use of sound waves which makes it suitable for patients with darker skin. PicoWay Resolve is a deeper fractional skin procedure while PicoWay Global isn't a deep fractionated treatment. A topical anesthesia is applied before the PicoWay device is placed on, or near, the skin to target the areas to be treated. The device sends gentle pulses of sound energy to break up skin pigment and smooth the skin.

Ideal candidates are healthy individuals suffering from hyperpigmentation, melasma, sun damage, freckles, acne scars, brown spots, age spots, lentigines, dark patches and spots or any other skin discolorations that are a result of genetics, pregnancy or the aging process. Patients should avoid exposure to excessive sunlight, self-tanning skin care products, electrolysis and waxing for a few weeks before the procedure.

The typical cost for a PicoWay procedure ranges from $1200-$3500.The final cost depends on the number of treatments performed, the size of the area being treated, the surgeon’s level of expertise and the geographic location of the procedure.

The procedure rejuvenates the skin and restores a youthful look. There could be short-term effects like redness, itching, mild burning, swelling and bruising. Dark spots peel off as part of the healing process. Patients should refrain from vigorous physical activities for a day after the treatment. A series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is needed for maximum results and the results last for 3-9 months.
