Intima


Intima is a laser treatment for vaginal rejuvenation. It also improves the appearance of the vulva. The treatment is done using a wand with a single use cover that is inserted into the vagina. It delivers carbon dioxide energy that stimulates both superficial and deep vaginal tissue to create collagen and elastin. This results in a toned vagina and treats vaginal looseness, loss of vaginal sensation, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse and stress urinary incontinence. Three treatments, spaced three weeks apart, are performed for maximum results.

Women who experience unpleasant vaginal symptoms benefit from the Intima laser. Patients who have had a vaginal birth or are in perimenopause or menopause are excellent candidates.

Each treatment with the Intima laser costs around $1000-$1400 a treatment. Three treatments are generally needed. The final cost can vary depending on the area of the country where it is performed, the amount of work needed and any fees charged by the doctor or the facility.

After the procedure, patients cannot place anything in the vagina for the next seven days to prevent any infections. After a week, patients will feel a noticeable difference in vaginal symptoms. Almost all women have noticeable changes after the first treatment in the series. Continuous improvements are seen for a month or two following the last procedure and are maintained for a year or longer. Single treatment touch-ups can be done yearly to maintain the results.
