Hybrid Tummy Tuck

A hybrid tummy tuck is also known as hybrid abdominoplasty. It is similar to a full abdominoplasty but it requires a smaller incision much like a mini tummy tuck. Using a smaller incision as well as a smaller amount of lower abdomen skin removal, the abdominal skin of the patient is tightened. Plus, any separated muscles that go all the way up to the sternum can be repaired thanks to endoscopic tightening of the fascia above the navel.

The ideal candidate for a hybrid tummy tuck is a patient that has localized excess skin and fat between the pubic area and the belly button. In addition, someone that is close to his or her ideal body weight is also a good candidate. Patients with noticeable excess skin above the belly button are better candidates for a full tummy tuck or a tummy tuck performed with abdominal liposuction.

The cost of a hybrid tummy tuck is anywhere from $4000-$6000. The cost depends on fees charged by the doctor or the facility, the amount of work that needs to be performed during the treatment, the skill of the surgeon and the area of the country where it is performed.

The results are considered to be permanent since any skin or fat that is removed will not grow back. Patients need to follow a healthy diet and exercise on a regular basis to maintain the results. Significant weight fluctuations can cause the skin to stretch and become loose again.
