Liquid Facelift

Liquid facelift uses dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, Sculptra or Bellafill to rejuvenate facial areas. Botox is often used along with dermal fillers to aid in the relaxation of the facial muscles. A liquid facelift addresses skin quality, skeletal hollowness and facial drooping. It is non-surgical and can be performed in a doctor’s office. Fillers are injected under the skin and the doctor will massage the filler material for a smooth appearance. Most filler is comprised of hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs in the body. Therefore, liquid facelifts are considered safe and have very limited side effects or risks.

The ideal candidate for a liquid facelift is any patient with mild to moderate signs of aging. Patients with fine lines, wrinkles or creases and those who want a more youthful facial appearance may benefit from a liquid facelift. A good candidate is also any patient with volume loss or sunken areas on the cheeks and temples or a hollowed look under the eyes. Ideal candidates are patients with realistic goals who are looking for a gentle lift that will provide a more rested, energized appearance.

The cost of a liquid facelift can vary according to the patient’s goals and the condition of the skin. A liquid facelift is usually priced by the syringe and the number of syringes needed will vary from patient to patient. The price can range from $2500 to $8000 with the average 3 syringe liquid facelift costing about $3500. If Botox is combined with the dermal fillers, patients can expect to pay an additional $300 to $600.

Immediate results can be seen in regards to volume enhancement. The skin should also appear smoother and less wrinkled. However, there may be some redness and swelling at the injection site that can mask the final results. Side effects will subside within 7 to 14 days. It can take several weeks to a month for the final results to be apparent since many fillers encourage gradual collagen production for skin tightening. The results of a liquid facelift will typically last one or two years depending on the type of filler used and the area being treated. To maintain the results, patients should use sunscreen whenever going outdoors and adopt a good skin care regimen.
