CoolSculpting is a non-surgical fat reduction procedure also known as cryolipolysis. CoolSculpting reduces excess body fat (underneath the skin) resistant to diet and exercise. The procedure cools subcutaneous fat to a point where the fat cells in the body become destroyed and are then absorbed by the body. It is performed using a handheld device containing applicators. An applicator and a gel pad are placed on the treatment area. The applicator cools the targeted fat. A suction device removes fat by moving the device over the skin. Some of the most commonly targeted areas include the flanks, abdomen, under the chin, fat on the arms and the back.
