Carboxytherapy

Carboxytherapy employs injections to infuse gaseous carbon dioxide beneath the skin into the subcutaneous tissues. The procedure begins with the connection of a tank of CO2 gas to a flow regulator. The gas is emitted through the flow regulator into sterile tubing that has a filter at the end. The filter picks up any impurities before they reach the body. The gas runs through a very small needle on the opposite side of the filter. The procedure stimulates circulation and collagen production which improves the appearance of the skin.

Ideal candidates who want to treat cellulite, dark circles under the eyes, fine lines, wrinkles, folds and stretch marks. The procedure is also used to kill fat cells. The best candidates are individuals in good health that want to rejuvenate their appearance.

The cost ranges from $100-$200 per treatment. The final cost depends on fees charged by the hospital or doctor, anesthesia fees, the surgeon’s level of expertise and the geographic location of the procedure.

Carboxytherapy increases the level of oxygen and nutrients in the treated area to produce improved skin appearance and cell restoration. The treated areas will feel warm and tingly after the treatment for up to 24 hours as circulation improves. There could be slight bruising, pain, soreness and itching at the injection site that clear up within a week. Most patients require 7 to 10 treatments, spaced one week apart, to get the maximum results. Depending on the area treated, the results can last for about six months.
