Cosmetic braces make for a better bite and smile beyond traditional metal braces. Braces with clear, or tooth colored, brackets are virtually transparent brackets and wires. The braces are self-tightening and the brackets come with a proprietary slide mechanism. Clear aligner trays are custom-made to fit over the upper or lower dental arch. A series of trays, varying slightly, are used. After 10-14 days, patients move to another set of trays until the teeth shift into position. Lingual braces are affixed to the back of the teeth rather than the front area. They function much like traditional braces but they are not visible when a person smiles.
