Millennial blogger and TikTok Influencer @fluentlyforward recently speculated that actress Olivia Munn had plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures done with a side-by-side photo. It made us start to wonder if her claims could be true.
Munn is famously known for her role in the X-Men movie series. In a 2018 interview for the franchise’s latest installment, Olivia claimed her only source for her face and skin to look so good was from eating Japanese sweet potatoes enriched with hyaluronic acid and vitamins. No mention of any cosmetic treatments or procedures.
But looking at her most recent photos compared to her early days as a pop culture correspondent on the Daily Show, it’s making us take a second look at her facial features. We think some tweaks and changes could have been done to her face that couldn’t just come from eating sweet potatoes.
So, let’s take a deeper look into the possible changes in Olivia Munn’s facial features from plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures.
Looking at pictures of Olivia Munn in the mid-2000s compared to a photo of her today, we notice changes to the tip of her nose, a softer jawline, higher cheek placement, and broader space around her eyes, possibly from an eyebrow lift.
We break down the details of each plastic surgery, or cosmetic procedure Munn may have done over the years. Let’s start from the top and work our way down, starting with a possible eyebrow lift.
An eyebrow lift, also known as a forehead lift, can be done surgically or with neurotoxin injections, like Botox. The most popular way to get an eyebrow lift these days is by going with the non-surgical option with injections. The Botox injections target the forehead area between the eyebrows and the ends of the eyebrow.
Botox is neuromuscular that blocks muscle contractions around the injection site. The injection aimed between the brows creates an elevated look of the eyebrows, temporarily keeping the forehead lifted, eliminating frown lines and the appearance of hooded eyelids.
The elevation of the eyelids is what tipped us off with this minor change to Munn’s eye shape, appearing more open and less hooded.
A rhinoplasty, more commonly known as a “nose job,” is the second cosmetic procedure we think Munn has done to her face. The bridge of her nose looks slightly narrower, and the tip of her nose looks a bit more pointed.
There is a possibility that she could have had closed rhinoplasty, a surgery that improves the shape and functionality of the nose. The incisions made with a closed rhinoplasty are inside the nostrils, so there are no visible scars. The plastic surgeon makes small incisions inside the nose to adjust the septum (the cartilage separating the nostrils) and reshape the nose’s tip to be smaller.
Cheek fillers are typically performed with dermal injections that add volume to the areas above and around your cheekbones. The fillers provide a lift underneath the skin’s surface to create a defined bone structure and smooth out wrinkles and fine lines.
Dermal fillers with a thicker consistency mimic connective tissue, creating the illusion of prominent cheekbones. In addition to its gel consistency, Juvéderm is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural gooey substance found in our bodies that keep skin cells lubricated by attracting moisture in the injected area. This moisture-attracting ingredient creates a more supple and smooth surface for the cheeks.
There is a subtle difference between Munn’s cheek height and definition compared to earlier photos. We think she could have had cheek fillers to create a more sculpted cheek shape.
Jawline contouring is a popular procedure involving reshaping or slimming the jawline with dermal filler injections. Dermal filler injectables made with a gel consistency are typically used for the jawline to create volume beneath the skin or add a firm shape structure. One of the most popular fillers used for the jawline is Radiesse, a calcium hydroxylapatite formulation made in a gel substance that is pliable to form and shape like bone and tissue underneath the skin.
There is a high possibility that Munn has had dermal fillers injected into her jawline. The shape is much more rounded and not as angular as in previous years.
Olivia Munn has beautiful facial features. We don’t have confirmation that she could have enhanced or altered these features, but we also do not think the subtle changes to her face could only come from her diet and what she eats.
