It is unlikely that a person is going to be happy with the appearance of each part of their body. Since the general public is often dissatisfied with the look of (for example), their nose or breasts, they might turn to rhinoplasty or breast augmentation to make the desired changes to the size and shape of those areas of the body. The cosmetic procedures mentioned in the last sentence are invasive surgical procedures that require incisions being created as well as an extended recovery time. As the New Year begins, there are some relatively new noninvasive cosmetic procedures available to patients who do not want to undergo an invasive surgical procedure to alter or enhance a targeted area of the body.
In the past, breast lift surgery was considered to be the best option for increasing the size of the breasts. A new noninvasive breast lift option is a Quantum treatment which is an electrical treatment designed to tone the look of the breasts and even lift them on the body after one session. The procedure works by attaching small probes to circular discs that are placed above and below the breasts. These probes will deliver tiny electrical currents that cause the muscles of the bust to contract. Then, the patient will experience an increase in the plumpness and lifting of the breast tissue. The tiny electrical currents provide a tingling sensation while they are on the patient and the treatment is often a popular choice for patients who have lost a good amount of weight as well as mothers who are nursing. Quantum has claimed that the treatment is able to raise the breasts by one-fourth of an inch after a single session. Each session can take about twenty minutes to perform and anywhere from eight to ten treatments are recommended to achieve a fuller, larger, and lifted look to the breasts. The final results tighten the skin of the patient while also reshaping and lifting the breast tissue without the need to have an invasive breast lift surgery.
DHEA is referred to as “cosmetic surgery in powder” and it has already proven to be popular in Paris as it becomes a new choice for patients in the United States. DHEA, which is available as a cream or a capsule, is made from an extract of a sex hormone that is secreted by the adrenal glands of a person. DHEA cream is said to stimulate the growth of collagen and elastin which are structural proteins in the skin that promote skin elasticity along with giving the skin a look that is youthful and plump. DHEA also stimulates the growth of skin cells while containing a good amount of vitamins and minerals that contain antioxidants that fight free radicals that can trigger disease in the body. There are some doctors who recommend pairing DHEA with electrical skin stimulation performed at regular intervals in order to push live skin cells higher to the surface of the skin. While patients will often see changes to their appearance after one month of weekly combinations of DHEA cream and electrical skin stimulation, it is recommended that patients have monthly treatments for anywhere from four to five months in order to maximize the results.
The legs and the thighs of a person can lose their shape and tone as a person gets older, but there is a liposuction option to address this issue with the body. Pulsed ultrasound-assisted liposuction (PUAL) is a liposuction treatment that requires a small incision to be created in the body so the doctor can remove fat cells that are located on areas of the body as varied as the thighs, hips, and buttocks. The procedure removes fat from the targeted area while also improving the shape and contour of the treated areas. The treatment breaks down fatty tissues through the use of sound waves that are delivered in short bursts. The small incision will only be around 3mm in length, so PUAL is able to quickly remove fat while producing less bruising on the body as well as less tenderness in the treated area than traditional liposuction. It has been estimated that the healing process is often thirty percent faster than traditional liposuction techniques. The procedure only takes about twenty minutes to perform, and the doctor can use a local anesthetic to keep the patient comfortable. This is in contrast to traditional liposuction which can take several hours to perform. The fat that is removed is permanently eliminated from the body.
Patients who are interested in any of the above noninvasive medical techniques are encouraged to visit a doctor who offers these medical procedures and also has a selection of “before and after” photos of actual patients they treated in the past. The doctor can examine the patient to make sure they are healthy enough to have the treatment of choice and that the person has realistic expectations about how the procedure is performed and the extent of the results that can be achieved.
