Beauty standards in our society are always shifting and evolving. Much like breast implants, butt implants are made of silicone. However, the silicone used for butt implants is made with less fluid so that the implants are more solid, making them much more suitable for the gluteal area. These implants are then surgically implanted into the buttocks region and are custom designed to give you the lift, shape, and size you desire. The surgeon would help guide you through the process of choosing the right size and shape of your implants so that the final result looks realistic and suits you proportionally, giving you the butt of your dreams.
While butt implants are one of the most invasive procedures when it comes to augmenting the buttocks, the results are also the most long-lasting. The procedure involves the surgeon creating an incision in the buttock region and then situating the implants in place. The surgeon will decide the best location for your incisions based on your specific case, but they are typically made in between the butt cheeks or underneath at the fold of the butt cheeks. The surgery takes approximately two hours.
Typical recovery time is approximately 2-3 weeks, though it could take 4-6 weeks before you’re cleared to resume all normal activities. It’s important to note that you won’t be permitted to sit down or lie on your back for at least the first 1-2 weeks after the procedure. For many patients, this is the most difficult part of the entire process, so it’s important to mentally prepare yourself accordingly. Your surgeon will give you detailed instructions on how to best care for your new butt after the surgery, and it’s imperative to follow their instructions carefully so as to help prevent any potential complications.
