Depending on the type of breast augmentation performed, the patient will enjoy increased fullness and shape. Fat grafting results last a lifetime while breast implants last anywhere from 10-25 years.
Butt implants are placed to enhance the shape and size of the buttocks as well as provide a more contoured silhouette. They can be made of soft or solid silicone and are somewhat round in shape.
Butt implants are normally placed in the patient using an intramuscular technique that places the implants within a pocket of the gluteal muscle. The surgeon makes a vertical incision down the center of the sacrum until the buttock muscle is reached. A pocket is then created under, or within, each muscle to make room for the implant. The implants are placed on each side of the muscle and the muscle is then closed around the implant. The results of butt implants are visible immediately but it can take several months for any swelling to dissipate and the implants to settle into position. The results can last a lifetime.
Patients that do not want to have butt implants placed in the body can have a Brazilian butt lift (BBL). The surgeon removes excess fat from areas such as the abdomen and hips. The fat is then purified and injected into the buttocks.
Facial fillers provide volume and restore fullness in the face that has been lost due to the aging process. They also lessen the appearance of facial lines and creases.
The most commonly used facial filler is hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs in the structure of the skin. Common examples of hyaluronic acid fillers include Restylane and Juvederm.
Another popular type of filler is calcium hydroxyapatite which is similar to bone and is often injected deeper than hyaluronic acid fillers. A common filler of this type is Radiesse.
Poly-L-lactic acid is a biodegradable synthetic substance that stimulates collagen and also helps to rebuild collagen. Sculptra is a common example of this filler.
The results of hyaluronic acid fillers depend on the amount of filler that was injected as well as the type of filler used. In general, the results last anywhere from six to twelve months to two years. The results of Radiesse last around 12 months before a follow-up treatment is needed. Sculptra results last about two years before any additional treatments are needed.
