Monsplasty

Monsplasty is a genital cosmetic surgery used to reduce the bulging of the mons (soft mound of fatty tissue covering the pubic bone above the vulvar area). The procedure involves liposuction so a small tube is inserted into the targeted area. Then, fat accumulation is removed and the underlying muscles and tissues are raised, tightened and sculpted to contour the pubic area. The end result is a smaller pubic area that is more natural in appearance. The procedure can also be performed at the same time as labiaplasty to provide a full vaginal rejuvenation.

Ideal candidates are healthy women who want to reduce their enlarged or sagging mons pubis area. The best candidates are women who are physically healthy and have realistic expectations about the results. Patients suffering from bleeding disorders, medical conditions that can impair the healing process or have a history of scarring (keloid formation) are not good candidates.

The typical cost for a monsplasty procedure ranges from $3000-$8000.The final cost depends on fees charged by the hospital or facility, the surgeon’s level of expertise, the geographic location of the procedure and if other procedures are performed at the same time.

The aim of the procedure is to reduce and tighten the tissues of the mons pubis. After the procedure, some mild discomfort, soreness, bruising and swelling will be experienced. Vigorous activities should be avoided for about three weeks. The swelling resolves completely about three months after undergoing the surgery. If a healthy and consistent weight is maintained, the results can be permanent because the removed fat won't come back.
