Butt Lift

A butt lift is a lifting of the buttocks through excess tissue, fat and skin removal. The skin and muscles are pulled tighter and repositioned to provide a younger appearance. Options include an upper butt lift (incision across the top of the buttock contour), a butterfly butt lift (incision in the central buttock crease that goes outward and upward), a lateral incision on either buttock side or removing tissue from the bottom area of the buttocks. A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) requires smaller incisions. The surgeon performs liposuction to remove unwanted fat from another area of the body and injects that fat into the buttocks to perform the lift.

Patients who want to improve the shape and appearance of their butt are good candidates for a butt lift. During a traditional butt lift, the patients should have excess fat, tissue and skin they haven’t been able to remove thanks to diet and exercise. They should also plan on maintaining a stable weight to preserve the results. BBL candidates should have enough excess fat elsewhere on the body that can be transferred to the buttock area.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average cost of a traditional butt lift is $6000-$11,000 while the average cost of a Brazilian butt lift is $3500-$10,000. This cost does not include any surgical facility fees, surgeon fees or anesthesia fees. The total cost also depends on the region of the United States where the surgery is performed.

The results from both a traditional butt lift and a BBL are long lasting and can even be permanent. In order to maintain the results, the patient should follow a healthy lifestyle, sustain a stable weight and follow any post-op instructions from the surgeon to help ensure proper healing and recovery.

Women over the years have always envied that perfect “hourglass” figure.  Whether they were trying to elicit comparisons to Marilyn Monroe or to Kim Kardashian, they’ve longed for those feminine proportions: a narrow waist, generous bosom, and rounded hips. But some women, tragically, haven’t...
